It was in 1395 that Philippe Le Hardi forbade the cultivation of Gamay in favor of Pinot Black to improve wine quality. Within the AOC Burgundy are produced red wines, white and rosé. The regional appellation covers nearly 2500 hectares of the Yonne department in the Rhône via Côte-d'Or. The Côte de Nuits is the chosen fields of Pinot Noir, 80% of the wines produced in Côte de Nuits are red wines.
"Les Graviers" is a climate of Chambolle-Musigny. The vine on this plot is planted from North to South. The roots are deep on clay soil with gravel in the subsoil, which ensure good water retention and supports better hot and heavy summer time. Les Graviers vines are approximately 30 years old.
This wine will be perfect with a coq au vin.
