Of the 33 A.O.C "Grands Crus" that account Burgundy, 4 ¼ are located on Morey-Saint-Denis. Indeed, Morey is "sharing" a small space of Bonnes-Mares with Chambolle-Musigny. "The Bonnes Mares" were named so after the discovery of a bas-relief of the goddesses "Mères". We know that this female trinity, protector of crops, and whose cult spread in the Roman era, presided over the benefits of the earth.
Our plot is located at the top of the hill, Morey-Saint-Denis side. The soils are calcareous clay with the presence of white marl. Frequently we find fossils and shells.
This Grand Cru will be exceptional with an Angus beef with truffles.
