Located south of Dijon, Gevrey-Chambertin is the first village in the Côte de Nuits. It is by the Louis Philippe's royal ordinance in 1847 that the term Chambertin is associated with Gevrey to become officially Gevrey-Chambertin. "Champs-Chenys" is a very specific plot of the Côte de Nuits located just below the "Charmes-Chambertin".
The soil is a mixture of pebbles, cobbles and limestone. A large quantity of iron pyrites is located in the subsoil. The vines are about 50 years old. Naturally, this plot produces wines of concentrated style.
This wine will accompany your candied pork cheeks.
